Head and Facial Pain Program

The Head and Facial Pain Program at Weill Cornell Medicine Neurological Surgery offers specialized care for patients with complex or persistent head and facial pain. Our program brings together a multidisciplinary team of experts, including neurosurgeons, neurologists, pain medicine physicians, otolaryngologists (ENT), neuroradiologists, and physical medicine and rehabilitation specialists, who collaborate closely to deliver comprehensive evaluations and coordinated treatment plans.

Patients benefit from the collective expertise of our team, especially when symptoms are difficult to diagnose or have not responded to standard treatments. We specialize in the management of:

  • Trigeminal neuralgia
  • Hemifacial spasm
  • Brain tumors affecting cranial nerves or pain-sensitive areas
  • Vascular compression syndromes
  • Cranial nerve disorders

Our neurosurgeons offer a range of advanced treatment options, including microvascular decompression, image-guided procedures, and other minimally invasive techniques when surgery is indicated. For patients whose conditions do not require surgical intervention, our team works to optimize non-operative therapies and ensure seamless referrals to other specialties within Weill Cornell Medicine.

Together, we are committed to relieving pain, restoring function, and improving the quality of life for every patient.
