The Surgical Neuro-oncology Program at Weill Cornell Medicine Neurological Surgery offers specializes in the surgical treatment of cancers affecting the brain and spine. Under the leadership of Neurosurgeon-in-Chief Philip Stieg, our neurosurgeons treat malignant tumors in adults and children, including primary and metastatic tumors.
The experts of the Surgical Neuro-oncology Program work closely with members of the Clinical Neuro-oncology Program to create a comprehensive strategy that includes surgical resection (removal) of tumors followed by medical control of tumors, including radiation and drug therapies.
The program also offers a wide spectrum of brain tumor clinical trials. The Weill Cornell Brain Tumor Research Group's (BTRG) focus on translational research makes the most recent and promising investigational regimens available to patients who participate in these clinical trials.
