Kristin Strybing, our Chief Nurse Practitioner, is a certified family nurse practitioner with more than 20 years of experience in neurosurgery. Kristin received her training at the Columbia University School of Nursing and additionally holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology. Kristin has been a part of Dr. Kaplitt’s practice since he began at Cornell as an attending in 2001.
Prior to becoming a nurse practitioner, Kristin worked as an RN for two years and worked as a bilingual health educator for migrant farmworkers. She has a specialty focus in movement disorders and device related neurosurgery such as spinal cord stimulators, deep brain stimulation, and ventriculoperitoneal shunts. Kristin appreciates the long-term relationships she has built with her patients and the opportunity to continue to learn and grow within the practice. Kristin is extremely gratified to be a part of the meaningful improvement in patients' overall level of function and quality of life after surgery.
