The Neurosurgery Outstanding Service Award spotlights members of the department who go above and beyond their assigned duties and who exemplify the core values of the department. The winner for Q4 2022 is Anthony Yarrell, the administrative professional in our Interventional Neuroradiology office.
Colleagues describe Anthony as easy to work with, hardworking, collegial, and helpful – even under pressure. “He has displayed an excellent work ethic, meets all deadlines, sends follow-up emails, closes outstanding matters, is very responsive and sees each project through,” says one nominator.
Another colleague noted that “if you ever need assistance or guidance, Anthony is always responsive and will assist in any way he can. He will go above and beyond to ensure he has provided as much help as possible. He is the definition of a TEAM Player. He will share his knowledge, and if he is not 100 percent certain, he will go above and beyond to find the answer you are looking for. He will also provide alternative solutions and follows up to ensure you can complete your task and have the help you need. This department is fortunate to have him. He embodies our core values, and our institution is lucky to have him.”
Honorable Mention
It’s difficult to pick winners each quarter, and sometimes we simply can’t limit ourselves to just one! This month we give a shout-out to Ruben Encalada, a senior patient coordinator who is relatively new to the department. Ruben spends a lot of his time working with patients of our neuropsychologists, who call him “a self-starter, bright, inquisitive, and a highly conscientious employee. He is extremely kind and patient, even in challenging situations. Ruben is particularly sensitive to patients who have neurological challenges to ensure that they have a good patient experience.”
Congratulations to Anthony and Ruben!
