Dr. Heather McCrea, chief resident in neurosurgery, has been matched to a coveted fellowship at Boston Children’s Hospital for the 2016-17 academic year. Dr. McCrea becomes the fourth of our neurosurgery residents to pursue a pediatric fellowship at one of the most prestigious children’s hospitals in the country. Previous residents who went on to specialty training in pediatric neurosurgery include Dr. David Sandberg (Children's Hospital of Los Angeles), Dr. Jeffrey Greenfield (Children's Hospital of Philadelphia), and Dr. Caitlin Hoffman (Hospital for Sick Children, Toronto).
There are only 26 accredited fellowships in North America, with only one fellow per institution, and we are proud to have placed so many of our graduating residents in such prestigious roles.
