Dr. Shakil Ahmed, Medical Director of the Division of Pain Medicine in the Department of Anesthesiology at Weill Cornell Medicine, specializes in the management of complex pain. Dr. Ahmed has a special interest in developing a comprehensive cancer pain program in collaboration with his oncology colleagues. He has co-authored several publications, including book chapters on cancer pain and regional anesthesia techniques. He is expert at performing diagnostic and therapeutic spinal injections, implantation of spinal cord stimulators and intrathecal pumps, and pulsed and thermal radiofrequency neurolysis. He works with the Brain Mets Clinic at Weill Cornell Medicine Neurological Surgery.
