Franziska Schmidt, MD, is a neurosurgical resident from Germany who was recruited in 2018 to lead, coordinate, and develop innovative studies related to Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery. Besides this, she is contributing to basic science projects and investigating the clinical outcomes of 3D-navigated surgeries. Dr. Schmidt is particularly interested in Global Health. She is in ongoing communication with Bugando Medical Center and MOI, Tanzania/East Africa. Over the last year she has coordinated several spine surgical courses, in particular the Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery course and the Global Neurosurgery Symposium.
