Dr. Souweidane Named Michels Family Professor of Pediatric Neurological Surgery

Weill Cornell Medicine's Department of Neurological Surgery proudly announces that Dr. Mark Souweidane has been appointed the Michels Family Professor of Pediatric Neurological Surgery. This esteemed appointment recognizes Dr. Souweidane’s decades-long leadership and innovation in pediatric neurosurgery, particularly in treating pediatric brain tumors.

Dr. Souweidane has dedicated his career to advancing the field of pediatric neuro-oncology. He has pioneered novel surgical strategies and minimally invasive techniques that have reshaped standards of care and brought new hope to children facing life-threatening conditions. His work, often focused on previously inoperable tumors, has garnered national and international recognition.
