The Neurosurgery Outstanding Service Award spotlights members of the department who exemplify the department's core values. The winner for Q3 2023 is Elaine M. Regacho, nurse practitioner who works with Dr. Philip Stieg and his patients.
“Elaine is an unfailingly professional, compassionate, and caring nurse practitioner,” says Dr. Stieg. “The attention she provides is a big part of why our patients report feeling so well cared for here.”
What Elaine's Colleagues Said
Elaine's colleagues add that she is a collegial and dedicated team player. “She is always positive, upbeat, and patient,” says one, “and she has adapted very well for the concierge type of practice Dr. Stieg has.”
“Elaine had an empathetic and understanding approach towards patients. She rounds on all of her patients and, on the hardest days, smiles through it all. She is optimistic, which is what patients need to see! “
Another colleague wrote: “Elaine is upstanding. Since she came on board as our NP, she has shown exemplary patient care. She greets patients and coworkers with a smile. She is patient, kind and compassionate.”
Another noted that Elaine “is an eager learner and interfaces well with patients, families, and inpatient and outpatient teams.”
