A postdoctoral researcher position is available immediately in the Children’s Brain Tumor Project (CBTP) laboratory in the Department of Neurological Surgery at Weill Cornell Medicine to study preclinical therapeutic delivery strategies. Using various drug delivery approaches including convection-enhanced delivery (CED), intra-arterial delivery, and focused ultrasound, candidate therapeutic agents are assayed using animal models. Neuro-imaging and tissue/cellular-based assays are used to define distribution, bioavailability, drug pharmacokinetics, and cell viability. Collaborative efforts currently exist for molecular imaging based on radio-nuclide and fluorophore drug labelling. (e.g. Kossatz et al. Cancer Research 2017; Wang et al. Molecular Cancer Therapeutics 2017; Komidi et al. ACS Med Chem Lett 2018)
We seek enthusiastic, highly qualified and motivated individuals to join our research group. The successful candidate should have a Ph.D. degree with a strong background in medical bioengineering, biotechnology, and/or biochemistry. Research experience in neuro-oncology, cancer biology, and molecular imaging would be considered advantageous.
Our laboratory is located on the Weill Cornell Medicine campus in New York City.
