Newsweek Names Top Doctors for Cancer

The Weill Cornell Brain and Spine Center is proud to have five neurosurgeons named to the 2015 list of Top Doctors for Cancer published in Newsweek magazine. This annual listing, based on the recommendations of other doctors, is a subset of the Castle Connolly list of Top Doctors and is highly valued by patients in search of the best in their fields.

The five neurosurgeons include three of our full-time faculty members (Dr. Philip E. Stieg, Dr. Mark Souweidane, and Dr. Theodore Schwartz) and two of our voluntary faculty (Dr. Mark Bilsky and Dr. Philip Gutin). Our neurosurgeons provide world-class care for adult and pediatric patients with primary or metastatic tumors of the brain or spine, and we are honored to be recognized by our peers as being among the very best in the country.

Of the 2,600 top cancer doctors on the list, only about 100 of them are neurosurgeons, representing more than 80 hospitals from coast to coast. To have five of our faculty on that list of top neurosurgeons for cancer is a major honor for the Weill Cornell Brain and Spine Center. We are committed to excellence in patient care, and to achieving the very best outcomes for the most difficult cases. We are  delighted that Newsweek and Castle Connolly recognize that commitment.
