The Neurosurgery Outstanding Service Award spotlights members of the department who exemplify the department's core values. The first winner of 2023 is medical assistant Kimberly Vega, with an honorable mention for administrative specialist Erma Bell.
Kimberly was described by one nominator as "the true definition of a hard worker.... She covers when needed, travels to alternate work sites and still completes her usual duties. Her commitment to excellence is unquestionable.” Another noted that she is "very hard working, and prides herself on getting the work done."
Erma Bell is the administrative specialist who supports Dr. Roger Härtl and Dr. Kai-Ming Fu; Erma is a veteran in neurosurgery, specifically in our spine service. One of her nominators noted that "Erma takes all research associates, fellows, and physician observers who work with her in the department under her wing and guides them in a compassionate and caring manner.”
Congratulations to Kimberly and Erma — the department couldn’t function without team players like you!
