This time last year, Brandon Hibbs came frighteningly close to losing his life during what was supposed to be a family vacation in the Big Apple. What started out as a routine sinus infection invaded the St. Louis teenager’s brain, and it required an extensive team and some surgical heroics to save him. Brandon is currently being featured in a NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital “Amazing Things” advertisement.

Today Brandon and his family returned to the Weill Cornell Medicine campus of NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital, where they were reunited with neurosurgeon Mark Souweidane and the whole team of doctors, nurses, child-life specialists, and more who helped Brandon beat the infection.  Brandon, now 16, is healthy and happy, and very glad he was in the right hands at the right time. Update 2023:
We were delighted to receive an update from Brandon and his mom as they celebrated his college graduation. Nothing makes us happier than hearing from former patients who are healthy and happy today thanks to our team. Congratulations to Brandon!
